Our Mission

Mission Statement

There is plenty of injustice in the world. Some of it is borne out of centuries-old systems that continue to exploit humans because of race, class, sex, religion or orientation. Some of it from the failures of capitalism or democracy that allow the greed, wants and ego of a few to deny the basic human needs of many.  And while the response is often empathy, justice needs lives of significance and action.

Correcting injustice is not easy. Relying on the governments and institutions that have allowed injustice to happen to provide the solution is folly. Solutions are going to come from community groups that are vested in seeing justice prevail. That is where Matching Justice hopes to help.

Matching Justice’s mission is to help small community groups with their goals of achieving labor, environmental, social and/or racial justice with grants to match their fundraising and work for projects. Rather than take on initiatives or give money to larger organizations with high overhead, Matching Justice wants to work directly with community groups to further their goals.
