About us
Matching Justice was formed by a small group of family and friends to help right some of the wrongs in the world, to replace greed with love, hate with hope, and injustice with justice. We are a 501(c)3 non-profit community foundation led by a Board of Directors.
A generous donation for an operations endowment covers all of our overhead costs, allowing 100% of all donations to Matching Justice to be used for community grants.
Matching Justice’s mission is to identify community groups and programs working toward labor, environmental, social and racial justice, and to financially support them through grants. By identifying the best justice-oriented projects in need of funding, we are able to pair benefactors with community groups in need of support.
Our Platform
-
Racial Justice
Matching Justice recognizes that racism is both systemic and institutionalized, with far–reaching effects on both political engagement and economic opportunities for people of color.
We want to empower local communities through relationship building and truth-telling. Our foundation wishes to participate in helping local and community groups working toward racial justice.
-
Environmental Justice
Matching Justice supports a clean and healthy environment, especially for those who have traditionally lived, worked and played closest to the sources of pollution.
Our planet and its resources have been plundered and abused, often because of greed and for corporate profits. We seek to assist projects designed to protect ecosystems and the delicate balance between humans and our environment.
-
Labor Justice
Matching Justice seeks to promote labor justice through sponsorship of community programs that support worker’s rights.
We support worker’s rights: fair wages, the right to unionize, safe workplaces, reasonable hours of work, and decent living standards.
-
Social Justice
Matching Justice believes everyone deserves a reasonable standard of economic, political and social rights and opportunities.
We would like to promote causes that provide equity in outcomes, not just equality, through support of community programs that are promoting and engaging impactful ways to improve social justice on the local level.
